The Steelworks at Port Kembla has employed English Electric locomotives of various sizes over the years. In the early 1990s BHP purchased the Goldsworthy Mining Limited in Western Australia and the locos then used by GML were made redundant. They were sold 'internally' and transported to New South Wales for further use. One of those locomotives that was reactivated was D46(K) Class, no. D47, which is seen stabled between turns at Port Kembla on September 27th, 1999.
