A line-up of motive power at Nairobi Steam Shed on May 21st, 2011 is headed by an English Electric 87 class locomotive, no. 8720. This loco is reported to have been the second locomotive to carry the identity, after two locomotives were seen to carry the number when it was being overhauled, this one and a KRC Blue liveried example, which was later scrapped

Significant updates to "English Electric Growl" will be listed on these pages. They have each been separated into yearly lists to allow ease of access and are listed in descending order, i.e. the most recent update at the top of the page.

Each list will contain the date the update was made, what section of the site was updated and a brief overview of the update. Where possible, a link has been included to take you to that section/page. The update list was cleared when the site was relaunched in 2023.
