First export order for the English Electric 12CSVT

Following the order for Type 3 locomotives for the British Transport Commisiion, the English Electric Company, the 12CSVT diesel engine was promoted to other countries of the commonwealth, this resulted in an order for 10 locomotives from the East African Railways & Harbours board which were to be used across the 3ft 6in gauge of the Kenyan network.
