The first of a Kind!

The first 15 locomotives built by English Electric that were fitted with the 12CSVT were moved from the Vulcan Foundry to Liverpool Docks for onward movement to Port Sudan. They were classified as `1000 class` before departure and were fitted with cast plates baring the locomotives numbers in Arabic script.
