Since this website first appeared on the web in 1999, it has been totally funded by without appeals for donations. For the reasons listed below, we are now having to do this, please read on and lend your support to ENGLISH ELECTRIC GROWL
| Back in 1999, little did we know how big a project this would be! and how much time it would take. In those early days, I was able to regularly put aside some time to get the website online, and it took some time to sort out the information contributed from people all over the world who had seen, slowly this has evolved into what English Electric Growl is today, and by my own reckoning, there is still plenty to do! While the site was in its infancy, it was hosted by my then ISP, together with all the adverts that had no relevance to the site. It was during this time, that an independant host was sourced and the www.ee12csvt.co.uk address came into use. This address led to the next major change, as the site is about the Worldwide use of the 12CSV Diesel engine, a worldwide address was required and www.12csv.com was bought and ENGLISH ELECTRIC GROWL was born. Various developments over the years had seen an increase in the types of content made available, including video, which meant we began to near the limit of our bandwidth on the price plan we were on at the time. Another upgrade, to our current pricing plan, has seen our monthly costs reach £20-30 a month. We do not want to change our current ISP because we are very happy them, we also don't want to go back to the free space providers due to the amount of adverts you have to take on board that may not be what you want! Therefore, maybe a small donation from our visitors may offset the costs involved in keeping the site online.
