All locomotives built by English Electric that were fitted with the 12CSVT Diesel Engine were built at one of three locations. Rocklea Works in Brisbane (Queensland, Australia), Vulcan Foundy at Newton le Willows (Lancashire, United Kingdom) or the Darlington Works of Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns (County Durham, United Kingdom). The build lists are displayed in the order of the works number rather than the actual running number received on introduction to service with the indicated company. Information listed includes the Works Number, Date to Traffic, Who is was supplied to, inital running number and status. The status column is currently 'static' until a more dynamic history of each locomotive over its years in service is made available on our related site, "The Growlette" [www.growlette.com], in future months. When the appropriate page is available a link will be provided to this column. Once you have visited these pages, if you think you can add or correct any of the information on show, please use the links on the contact page to let us know. |
