There are a couple of points that need to be noted, all to do with reclassifications

The E.E. Type 3's became Class 37's when the TOPS numbering system came into use on British Rail, those members that were not 'affected' by the HGR programme in the 1980's became Class 37/0's. |

The 90 Class locomotives were reclassified to 87 class |

During the HGR era of the mid-1980's, 6 Class 37's lost their 12CSVT Diesel engines, being replaced by Mirrlees or Ruston test engines. As a result of this procedure taking place, the Class 37/9's are no longer included in the site [Visit The Growlette for more information] |
