An English Electric 12CSVT engine is seen in a stripped down state at Carnforth whilst it was undergoing overhaul in 2003. This 'Power Unit' was put to use in a Class 37 of the West Coast Railway Co. fleet.

| The technical area of this site will hopefully evolve to include as much information not only about the 12CSV Diesel engine that this site is dedicated to, but into a comprehensive area concerning all Diesel engines. To begin, the section has been divided into five areas, 'General' includes non-specific technical and historical reports, 'Common' includes is more 12CSV specific which is common across the use of the engine and the last three areas are specific to the type use the engine has been put to. These areas can be selected from the menu on the left. It should be noted that we are not 'experts' in the field of the Diesel Engine, just very enthusiastic about how the 12CSV Diesel engine was, and is, used. Do you have experience of the 12CSV or other Diesel engines? Could you write an article for use on this site? If you can, please contact us via the link below. Once you have visited these pages, if you think you can add or correct any of the information on show, please use the links on the contact page to let us know. |
